The Governor and General Assembly have just given themselves a
seven day extension on coming up with a plan to resolve the budget
crisis. This means that mental health advocates have one more week
to let our Governor and lawmakers know that they need to pass a
budget that protects the safety net for individuals with mental
illness.
YOUR CALLS AND E-MAILS ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
We continue to receive reports from members of the General
Assembly that they are hearing our message and are looking for ways
to restore funding to the Ohio Department of Mental Health’s budget
from the devastating cuts proposed by Governor Strickland. In
addition, newspapers from around the state are calling on lawmakers
to prioritize mental health services.
Please continue to contact your legislators. The message is
simple.
DO NOT CUT MENTAL HEALTH. IF YOU DO, PEOPLE WILL DIE.

of our regular monthly meeting program. From 6:45 to 7:30 on meeting
nights (the second Thursday of each month), we will offer an informal "sharing and caring" program as a
prelude to our educational speaker's program.
